" My art practice also interrogates and explores a number of themes regarding the changing nature of the traditional African market, a change that is primarily initiated by contemporary globalization. One interesting theme I have started to explore is the widespread recycling of waste, cast-offs, and pre-owned materials from the West in the traditional African market. I am also fascinated by how trademarks from the developed countries are used to signify some fresh relevance and meanings especially when these trademarks are incorporated into traditional crafts, cultural practices, and commodities that are now found in the markets of the Third World."
